Painting with Paper Pulp

Students will explore how to make pigmented paper pulp to create a full palette of colors, and how to use those wet fibers as a kind of paint. Students will learn the process for making both smooth and textured paper pulp, as well as techniques for mark-making, creating shapes of color, building layered images and how to retain negative space within a composition.

Thursday, July 23 - Recycled Papermaking for Teens with the Oregon City Library, 4-5:30pm

Would you like to learn how to turn your unwanted junk mail, used gift wrap, old magazines and other used paper materials into unique handmade paper? This is the class for you! We will use a variety of papers to make colorful, eco-friendly, and one-of-a-kind papers that are great for making cards, drawings, prints, etc. You'll learn how to use stencils, cookie cutters, and dried plant materials to create designs on and in your paper. This is a fun and messy class where you can let your creativity flow. No experience required, feel free to bring in flat ribbons, dried flowers and plant materials you want to embed into your paper. For teens 14-18.
